Dinner at the Mill

Join us for Dinner at the Mill at 7:00 pm on Saturday, May 27th with Chef Johnny Spero. We'll serve a family style meal with specialty Millstone Cider pairings in our lovely post and beam barn!

Chef Johnny Spero began his culinary career at the at of 16 in Baltimore County. For the past 10 years he has been living and working in Washington D.C., most recently during his tenure as Head Chef at Jose Andres’ Minibar the restaurant earned a perfect four-star review from The Washington Post.

In 2014, Johnny was awarded the prestigious STARCHEFS "D.C. Rising Star", was Eater DC's "Chef of the Year", and was a Rammy Awards finalist for “Rising Culinary Star of the Year.” He recently returned to the area after spending most of 2015 staging at Mugaritz in San Sebastian, Spain.

Currently Johnny is building his new restaurant in Georgetown called Reverie. It will offer an a la carte menu as well as a 6 course tasting menu. Reverie is inspired by Spero's travels and working abroad, offering a casual fine dining experience in an approachable and fun atmosphere.

Come out to Blue Pit BBQ and sample 20 different cider homebrew entries! Millstone provided the juice for competitors and on April 23rd we will get together with a group of judges and hand out prizes for the best entries.

    Make Cider with MillStone

    Make Cider with MillStone!

    On Saturday, March 25th at 10:00 AM, MillStone Cellars Staff will guide you through the cider making process. We'll press apples into juice, discuss different processes and fermentation processes, and do our best to answer all of your cider questions!

    Registration will include a cider making workshop with the MillStone Cellars Crew, a barrel tasting of MillStone's different ciders, and fresh pressed juice and to supply a 5 gallon batch of cider. You may bring your own fermentation vessel - we recommend a 5 gallon brewing bucket or carboy outfitted with an airlock.

    Guests must pre-register to attend. Email caiti@millstonecellars.com to register and for more information. Registration is per person, $45 payable at the event. Registration for Keepers of the Ugly Apple is $35.

    We will also have carboys and accessories available for sale at the Mill. 5 gallon carboys for $38, 6 gallon carboys for $43. Call ahead if you want us to reserve one for you.
